What will you embody in 2025?

It's that awkward time between Christmas and New Years when many people find themselves a little lost. Many of us have just had a big celebration (most likely accompanied by copious amounts of food) and there's possibly another big one looming ahead for New Year's Eve.

The time in between just feels a little like limbo and we have some time to think.

This is the perfect time to think about the year ahead - 2025.

(I can't believe it's already 2025. It sounds so futuristic - I have visions of Total Recall playing in my head!)

But here we are.

And no, I'm not going to ask you to think about your New Year's Resolution.

For those that are new, I don't set new year's resolutions anymore and you can click the link below to read a post from last year about why I don't recommend them. 😉

So, instead of setting new year's resolutions, I do something else - and I'm going to recommend you do this too!

Choose a word.

Something you want to embody in the year to come.

As an example, last year I chose the word expansion for 2024. I know I wanted to expand in myself as well as in my business/career but I didn't quite have the clarity on what I wanted to do specifically. And so the word was perfect.

It was a constant reminder of keeping me on track to expand - which to me meant trying new things, being more courageous, learning about myself and growing as a person. This is what I wanted to focus on in life - and having the word allowed me to keep doing that without needing a specific outcome.

I was able to expand my business in a new direction, expand my skills and qualifications, expand my network and my relationships, expand in my self-awareness and self-acceptance.

*Of course, you can always have a specific outcome you want but having the word will allow you to continually embody what you're setting out to do, whether or not you're focusing on that one specific goal.

So, what is it that you want in life? What would you like to embody in 2025? Who do you want to become? What version of you will show up in 2025?

Take some time to think about the word that most describes what you want to embody in 2025.

If you need some ideas or a starting off point, some good words to consider are courage, patience, trust, curiosity, receptive...

Think about what it is you would like to achieve (the big picture) and then what quality will allow you to move towards achieving that. Maybe think about what is standing in your way. What do YOU need to embody to get yourself to where you want to be?

It's a beautiful way to move towards long-term goals and dreams that focus on YOU instead of an external outcome or achievement.

I haven't picked my word for 2025 yet - I'm still mulling over the finalists.

If you choose to accept the challenge, you can do the same.

Choose the word that will help guide your 2025 in a direction you want to go.

And with that, I want to wish you all a fantastic start to 2025! I appreciate every single one of you and wish you nothing but a year of more self-discovery, self-empowerment, simplicity and joy!

See you in 2025!
